The Mayor of Puerto Lumbreras and Regional Representative, Pedro Antonio Sánchez López met this morning at the Palacio Episcopal Bishop of the Diocese of Cartagena, D.
Juan Antonio Reig-Plá.
The meeting also attended the local parish priests, Andrés Marín and Antonio Martinez.
Among the topics under discussion at the meeting agreed to consider building in Puerto Lumbreras in a religious school.
According to the mayor of the town "we offer families lumbrerenses the possibility that their children can study at a college with a religious ideology, thereby expanding educational opportunities currently offered by the municipality"
The construction of this new school is part of the proceedings of the Second Local Agreement for education, which is now being prepared once they have implemented all of the works of the First Covenant Local.
The Mayor has announced that the feasibility of constructing the religious school will create a working group to explore the possibilities that confirm or not the creation of what would become the first religious school in Puerto Lumbreras.
Sanchez also has been "excited about this project, I am sure many families will be happy to offer a positive way"
At the meeting spoke of other projects currently being implemented in the municipality, as the House of Guilds and the future Museum of the Virgin.
Mayor Bishop reported on the status of implementation of the House of Guilds, the new headquarters of all the brotherhoods of Puerto Lumbreras and is currently nearing completion of works.
This building has been designed as a place where the three guilds of the town have a place to keep their seats, conduct their meetings and to perform the various activities throughout the year is celebrated around the world of the Week Santa.
On the other hand, the Mayor has submitted to the Bishop Museum restoration project of the Virgen del Rosario.
