The director of the Institute of Youth in the Region of Murcia, Veronica Lopez, accompanied by the mayor of Puerto Lumbreras, Pedro Antonio Sánchez, today announced the regional conference 'Youth and Non-formal learning.
Spaces and methods of intervention ', to be held on 20 and 21 November at the Cultural Center of the town.
For two days, young technicians, educators, trainers, psychologists and people working with young people discuss the different methods in non-formal education.
A total of 225 participants from different regions such as Catalonia, Andalucia, Basque Country and Valencia, will attend this meeting which will discuss the different educational proposals that are addressed to youth and adolescents, as well as analyze and awareness of the need for continuing education for personal development.
Lee stressed the importance of these days in which "for two days will meet engineers, educators and people working with young people to exchange experiences and promote initiatives and actions in non-formal education."
Through lectures, workshops and roundtables will discuss the methods and models of educational intervention with young people, values education, intercultural learning, vocational training and youth employment, education, leisure time, globalization and sustainable development, development of competition young people's social, consumer education, equality, environment and youth participation.
The course is for students, trainers, educators and technicians who work with youth.
It is the fifth consecutive year that the Youth Institute organizes a regional training sessions: in 2007 were in Cehegín ('Youth for Equality'), in 2006, in Torre Pacheco ('Youth multicultural'); in 2005 Alhama Murcia ('municipal youth policy'), and in 2004, in Cartagena ('Youth and alternative entertainment').
This year they are organized in collaboration with the Municipality of Puerto Lumbreras.
