The mayor of Puerto Lumbreras, Pedro Antonio Sanchez and the Minister of Public Works and Planning, José Ballesta, as well as the mayors of the municipalities of Abarán, Caravaca, Cartagena, Cehegín, Cieza, La Union and Molina de Segura have signed this morning an agreement, through the Institute for Housing and Land in the Region of Murcia (IVS) and Public Works, to 1,800,000 euros to invest in the refurbishment of 908 houses of public promotion, of which 93 homes will be located in Puerto Lumbreras.
The houses, framed in the public park homes are owned by the Institute for Housing and Land in the Region of Murcia and are occupied under a lease.
According to the mayor of Puerto Lumbreras, "this new action will affect many residents of the municipality, with fewer economic resources that will improve their quality of life, to be renovated their homes.
In the same way the reform of housing will further recruitment of professionals in this sector, resulting in employment generation in the current economic crisis. "
Likewise, the Regional Government, through the IVS and local government is still committed to one of the objectives outlined in the Revitalization Plan, as is the rehabilitation of public park homes, which complements the package of measures to further investments infrastructure and improving the productivity of the regional economy in the short term.
