The general director of Books, Archives and Libraries, Francisco Giménez, opens this afternoon at Puerto Lumbreras (at 20:00, Aula de Cultura Cajamurcia) sample 'Family Album Puerto Lumbreras'.
The exhibition includes 400 images of the town, sent by the inhabitants of the area, they are displayed 200 and the 400 will be projected on a video.
This sample is included in the first phase of the project 'Family Album Murcia Region' organized by the Ministry, through the Center for Photographic History of the Region of Murcia, aims to restore and safeguard the photographic legacy treasured citizens.
All with the purpose of analyzing hundreds of common documents that are crucial to know our history and identity.
The photographs shown are the history and identity of Puerto Lumbreras through the development of its people and their customs, changing its own landscape, marked especially in this case, by the terrible tragedy of the flood of 1973.
For a long time private or family photographs were valuable only for their owners, who were kept in boxes or crates and offered from time to time the ability to gather around them to family or friends, to remember special moments and loved ones missing or remember yesterday
This project starts first exhibition 'Family Album Murcia' with this first issue dedicated to Puerto Lumbreras.
You are collecting photographs of Cartagena, from which a selection of the 1650 images have been collected as part of one sample.
Family Album
This initiative of the Ministry, a pioneer in Spain, seeks to collect social events, family portraits and panoramas of the city.
Any photograph can be part of this great photo album of the region that, once completed, will be disseminated through the Internet as well as exhibitions and publications.
Of all the photographs we will make a first selection in which the most interesting will be chosen based primarily on its content, but may present both historical and current photographs.
In addition, accept all media and formats, from film or glass negatives, slides, photo paper, postcards, or digital media.
The images will be temporarily deposited in the Cehiform for analysis and assessment of their quality as well as for scanning.
This process is completed, the originals will be returned to its owner.
