The mayor of Puerto Lumbreras, Pedro Antonio Sanchez and the Minister of Public Works and Planning, José Ballesta, this morning signed a collaboration agreement to fund rehabilitation works of the architectural heritage in an act that also have been present the mayors of the municipalities of Alhama de Murcia, Juan Romero, La Union, Francisco Martín and Cotillas Towers, Domingo Coronado.
The agreement between the municipality and autonomous region lumbrerense will carry out rehabilitation works at the Casa del Cura, a nineteenth century manor house that has a structure typical rural farmhouse, located in an area of recent urban expansion into The hamlet of Esparragal.
With this action the City will recover the customs of a historical period characterized by an agricultural and livestock through the physical traces of the original carrier involved in this landmark.
The project also includes the creation of a public park in an environment where there are now orange groves and olive trees, which are intended to contribute to own content museum, because they reflect the agricultural lifestyle of the time.
As stated by the mayor of Puerto Lumbreras and regional deputy, Pedro Antonio Sánchez, "the rehabilitation of this landmark will art-historical reconstruction of the roots of our town to make them available to all lumbrerenses."
CASA DEL CURA.
The eighteenth century building, built by Juan Arcas and inhabited for years by Alberto Marzal, now part-Cultural Tourism Plan conducted by the Municipality of Puerto Lumbreras, next to the Castle Nogalte rehabilitation and refurbishment of some 150 Casas-Cueva.
The structure has 1,300 square meters of housing and 7,200 meters of land and shall be designed to create a large public park in the first room and then host cultural activities and tourism.
The farm, located on the outskirts of town towards the hamlet of Esparragal, has a house with two floors and large balconies, and a room where formerly kept the farm and people residing in charge of maintenance of land .
