The City Council of Puerto Lumbreras through its Equal Opportunities council has organized for February 14 in a "mare" a regional meeting of single person that has a horse show, food and dancing with orchestra entertained by the presenter Juan Imedio and count on the collaboration, as evidenced by the posters printed at the end, the Institute of Women of the Region of Murcia.

Respecting the choices that each woman to find a mate, what we think is unacceptable is that since the institutions will encourage performances in which we offer to women as currency, implying that our main objective and goal is finding a partner.

It seems that we were following the instructions in the booklet of the Feminine Section.

Of course everyone is free to organize as many festivities and celebrations it deems appropriate, however cheesy that we seem, but it is totally unacceptable that two institutions, a regional city and one that should be concerning issues in their areas equal, invest their already scarce funds to subsidize activities that advances a culture of female subordination.

And it must be remembered that the Women's Institute this year has seen its budget depleted in precisely the actions to achieve equality in the workplace for women, and not because they needed in a region like ours, one of the most affected by the crisis where women are also the main victims of unemployment, precarious employment and earn lower wages than men despite being, in many aocasiones, better educated.

What seems not to have fallen from the budgetary point of view is the policy of propaganda campaigns, as the last highly publicized-in that made us believe that workplace equality had already been achieved and that justified from the Regional Government not done nothing, and which also include the actions of bread and circuses that try to counter any reaction vindication of women, as if to say "you're looking for a boyfriend distracted cutest baby."
