The regional government allocated 200,000 euros to this action, the total of 1.8 million will be invested in improving the housing stock in public ownership
The Ministry of Public Works and Planning, through Housing and Land Institute of the Region of Murcia (IVS), allocates 200,000 euros to the rehabilitation of 93 houses in the regional park in the town of Puerto Lumbreras, within the Repair Plan promoted by the regional government.
The managing director of the IVS, Jane Brown, said today at a press conference that "this completes the extraordinary investment performance for the recovery of public housing in eight municipalities in the region, which have a direct impact on improving the living conditions of families living buildings. "
Repair Plan, promoted by the Executive of Murcia, has invested 1.8 million euros to more than 900 homes in the regional park Abarán housing, Caravaca de la Cruz, Cartagena, Cehegín, Cieza, La Union, Molina de Segura and Puerto Lumbreras.
"To give impetus to public works is one of the priorities of the regional government in the Revitalization Plan, so this initiative, coordinated with local governments, contributing to the revival of local economies," Brown remarked.
In this regard, the Director concluded that "through this Plan on Housing and Land Institute works to stop the deterioration of public housing for rent in the region and guarantee the right of Murcia who have low incomes to enjoy a decent housing. "
Job creation
Repair Plan joins the regional government's goal of creating jobs through investments in public works, along with the employment exchange launched by the IVS, an initiative aimed at businesses and professionals interested in working for this year's repair, rehabilitation, renovation and construction of the housing stock owned by the Autonomous Community.
This, according to Brown, "we can develop one of the objectives of the Revitalization Plan launched last year by the regional government: the gamble of public works and housing rehabilitation, productive investments are a strong engine of job creation and economic activity. "
