The new entrance provides the way to the more than 1,500 people attending the weekly Friday market in Puerto Lumbreras
The City Council of Puerto Lumbreras has invested almost € 80,000 in the creation of a new pedestrian access to the center of town that is now available.
These works allow input from the Rambla to the central Nogalte Caño street where you install the weekly Friday market is attended by 1,500 people.
The project, which has received an investment of EUR 78,393.84, consists of two inclines of 30 meters each, located through a covered walkway for pedestrians.
"The new entry will not only facilitate access to the town center, but allows the direct passage to pedestrians from the car park of the avenue where more than 500 vehicles weekly market day," said Eliseo Sanchez, Councillor of Works and Environment.
This new access is enabled via two ramps to facilitate transition to people with disabilities or difficulties.
The entry also has railings all the way and interior lighting to allow pedestrian traffic at night.
Another of the advantages is the considerable decrease from the Rambla Nogalte tour to Caño Street.
With this new pedestrian entrance save a distance of approximately 400 meters from the Rambla to the street on which you install the weekly market.
