For this reason, the municipality of Puerto Lumbreras has submitted a work program to work with the European project Vocative (Valorizzation of Cultural Heritage and tourism) which aims mainly to promote a strategy for the development and promotion of cultural and identity rural areas to ensure sustainable tourism and future.
"It's very important that Puerto Lumbreras become part of these international networks that provide knowledge, experience and opportunities for the tourism sector," added Sanchez.
Vocative project, part of the European program Interreg IVc, promotes the creation of networks between locations within Europe where rural tourism development offers great opportunities for the economic future of the municipality.
Members of these networks analyzed different forms of territorial organization of municipalities in the network to propose initiatives to help foster local development.
The vocative also proposes the creation of local and transboundary cooperation in the field of economy, society and culture.
Along with Puerto Lumbreras, will meet other European areas such as municipalities of Noicattaro, Castellaneta or Palagianello in Italy or in other locations in Greece and Malta, among others.
It should be noted that the vast majority of European spaces linked to this project have different territory protected by existing authorities, as in the case of Puerto Lumbreras itself with the head of Jara.
The European program includes the development of promotional activities for protected natural areas.
