The mayor of Puerto Lumbreras, Pedro Antonio Sánchez, and the president of the Consumers Union of Murcia, Pedro Duque Valera, have signed a collaboration agreement to develop local policy for consumer protection
The City Council of Puerto Lumbreras has signed a collaboration agreement with Consumers Union UCE Murcia with the aim of developing local policy of consumer protection in Puerto Lumbreras.
Through this agreement signed by the Mayor, Pedro Antonio Sánchez, and the president of UCE Murcia, Pedro Valera Duque, will set a high level of consumer protection in the municipality through legislative harmonization of the market and the introduction of initiatives and activities that educate and benefit the lumbrerenses.
"The agreement aims to promote the interests of consumers and ensure a high level of protection.
Since the City will contribute to protecting the health, safety and economic interests of citizens and promoting their right to information, education and to organize their interests, "said the mayor of Puerto Lumbreras, Pedro Antonio Sánchez.
The City Council of Puerto Lumbreras has announced the implementation of educational activities aimed at consumers in the municipality.
The session will emphasize the schools, which will develop initiatives that will train more than 2,000 schools in Puerto Lumbreras on responsible consumption and consumer protection mechanisms.
In addition, the town held special campaigns in high consumption periods as rebates or Christmas, also committed to the celebration of World Consumer Day.
"The City Council of Puerto Lumbreras will launch this year a consumer-oriented campaign that will take place through information, courses and seminars to disseminate consumer rights and all matters of interest in this area," adds Pedro Antonio Sánchez.
Puerto Lumbreras on administering a public service of consumer information and complaints handling and complaints including mediation and conciliation through the Municipal Office of Consumer Information to open its doors to users Monday through Friday from 10 : 00 to 14:00.
Last year, the Municipal Office of Consumer Information Puerto Lumbreras attended nearly a thousand questions, complaints and denunciations.
Moreover, since the town was organized 85 seminars through which they formed more than 1,500 people in responsible drinking habits.
