The director of the Institute of Youth in the Region of Murcia, Veronica Lopez, Director General for Cultural Promotion, Antonio Martínez, and the mayor of Puerto Lumbreras, Pedro Antonio Sánchez, inaugurated this morning the International Art Contest 'Explum' which be held in the town during the weekend.
This festival is primarily aimed at promoting young artists of all nationalities and from different artistic disciplines, from flamenco, video art, contemporary dance performances to the more transgressive.
Explum has received proposals from more than 800 works by artists from different countries of the International Competition Committee has selected fifteen projects to be exhibited during the weekend.
Among the artists participating in this festival highlights the American Warren Neidich, who has done a 'global telepathic transmission. "
For this project the author has sent 20 pictures to 19 people around the world to each pick the one you like and send telepathically to Puerto Lumbreras.
The result is a distortion in the normal conditions governing the receipt of the artwork.
This event will also host the video installation 'mor true' in which the artist Silvia Carolina, aims to show that true love has two sides, affirming and denying its existence.
In the musical section involved some of the exponents most innovative contemporary music as the formation of hip-op exception, with José Manuel Montilla, or electronic music Pinkers Tones, Codec & Flexor, Xenia Beliaveva, Aril Briskha and ASCII disk.
