The new public facility is the first center of its kind in Puerto Lumbreras, and address the basic personal needs, therapeutic and socio-cultural rights of older people affected by different degrees of dependence.
The City Council of Puerto Lumbreras has organized during the days 15, 16 and April 17 open house about the new Day Centre for Older People in order to show the new infrastructure and explain the many services offered by the new public facilities various social groups, especially the elderly.
The mayor of Puerto Lumbreras, Pedro Antonio Sánchez, attended by the Councillor for Social Policy, M ª Angeles Tunisia, to open days and he explained the services offered by the Day Centre For three days is expected attending the new center many groups as housewives associations, boards of pensioner households, elderly associations, social workers, neighbors and village associations as provided for persons with Alzheimer's or ADIC, group of persons with disabilities.
The new Center for Senior Day with an infrastructure of over 800 square feet on two floors.
The ground floor is devoted to dependent older people, while the other will go to people with Alzheimer's disease.
The center will have qualified as nurses, psychologists, social worker or occupational therapist in order to meet the needs of dependent people who stay during the day.
The infrastructure will initially have 20 beds for dependent elderly people and 10 people with Alzheimer's disease.

During the conference, planned for municipal groups, explains the areas of the new center that will go to physical therapy and psychology.
The new service includes an auditorium, cafeteria, dining room, kitchen and occupational therapy room.
