Puerto Lumbreras celebrates traditional Cattle Fair, one of the oldest games in Spain, where he will present nearly 600 animals at a facility of 20,000 square meters.
The Fair will be held at the fairgrounds Regional Livestock Market during the weekend, particularly on days 2 and 3 May and will remain open between 8:00 and 20:00.
Councillor for Rural Development, José María Parra, accompanied by the technical responsible for the fair, Juana Maria Valera, this morning the activities to be undertaken in Equine Cattle Fair 2009.
"Puerto Lumbreras holds two contests of horses, donkeys and mules, and other fairs.
With the May Fair, traditionally known as 'the big fair', the town becomes the first to open the Spanish shows, besides being the last to close with 'the fair girl' held in December, Councillor stands for Rural Development, José María Parra.
During the Cattle Fair, which has a tradition of nearly 80 years, attendees can buy, sell or observe the cattle exposed.
There is an extensive participation of farmers in different parts of the Region of Murcia and Spain.
"The fair will be located in the Cattle Market District, a mile from the town towards the hamlet of Esparragal.
Among the novelties of this edition 2009, exhibits include cattle material as saddles, carriages or esparto work to encourage and promote craftsmanship cattle among the thousands of attendees who come every year to the Fair, "says Parra.
Besides the cattle shows, from the municipality of Puerto Lumbreras is enabled a track that will be exhibited horses.
Outside the fairground will also feature exhibits and displays.
Parra has stated that "it expects to receive a high number of visitors.
At the fair, farmers can buy purebred animals and livestock mixed, but we also want to emphasize at the City Council that the fair is an annual event that addresses not only farmers, but also a good occasion for general public aware of this world. "
