The City Council of Puerto Lumbreras urges the Central Government through a motion to be discussed at the next plenary session, to not cut the State Budget in the resources allocated to municipalities from the Fund Reception and Integration of Immigrants.
This request stems from the recent announcement by the Ministry of Immigration of the Government of Spain, the cut of 30% of items in the Immigrant Integration Fund aimed at municipalities.
According to the Councillor for Social Policy, M ª Angeles Tunisia, "said cut break social cohesion by reducing funding for the most basic care such as education, training, language training and social integration.
The Immigrant Integration Fund should establish a model of cooperation between different public authorities to promote and strengthen public policies in this area through optimal cooperation with the Autonomous Communities and local councils. "

The program also includes sessions on introduction to computers and language learning for immigrant students who have no previous knowledge in these areas.
