The works have an investment of 60,000 euros and connect with other existing networks in the municipality to improve the performance and extend the use of water.
The City Council of Puerto Lumbreras has begun work on a new rainwater collection system that will serve to enhance the use of water from precipitation in the municipality.
The actions that are being made at José Caballero Oliver, have a budget of close to 60,000 euros and the new network will connect with other stormwater collection networks already existing in order to facilitate better use of water allocated to irrigation in the area.
"For the City Council of Puerto Lumbreras the use of water resources has become a priority and we continue promoting the installation of such networks in several streets in the municipality.
With this new action have joined several stormwater collection networks to collect water in the main streets of town then to be used for irrigation in the area, "said Councilman Works, Eliseo Sánchez.
The new rainwater collection system is being installed in the street José Caballero Oliver and collects water from other streets as Ramon Robles, Jose Maria Parraga Artist, Pablo Casals and Rose Street.
The works include the installation of over 200 meters of rainwater collection network through a corrugated PVC collector with 600 mm in diameter.
In addition to allocating irrigation water shares, the new rainwater harvesting system will favor the channeling of the streams coming and avoid stagnation of water in the town streets.
