The City Council of Puerto Lumbreras has developed several educational activities on responsible consumption targeted at citizens of the municipality.
The council has placed special emphasis on schools, where they are developing training initiatives for responsible consumption and consumer protection mechanisms, designed over 700 schools in Puerto Lumbreras.
According to the Councillor for Health, "consumption is an important part of our daily lives and takes a significant proportion of our money and our time.
The consumer society is changing rapidly, and from the Council consider it very important to educate young people to acquire adequate and responsible habits. "
Besides the school program, the municipality has launched a campaign targeted to consumers that is taking place throughout the year through information, courses and seminars to disseminate consumer rights.
The campaign also includes courses for both women and the elderly in the municipality.
All will be informed about responsible drinking to avoid compulsive actions, and they raise the awareness of the impact that publicity about the behavior and habits.
It is also envisaged that the municipality develops special campaigns in high consumption periods as rebates or Christmas, also committed to the celebration of World Consumer Day.
