Comprehensive Security Center of Puerto Lumbreras welcome the staff of the Local Police and Civil Protection and Emergency all devices with which it is giving the municipality, as noted by the Minister of Presidency and Public Administration, María Pedro Reverte.
Reverte, accompanied by the mayor of Puerto Lumbreras, Pedro Antonio Sánchez, chaired the ceremony of laying the foundation stone for the construction of this new infrastructure project is budgeted at 2,747,222 euros and is subsidized by the Region of € 2,400,000.
The new Security Center, which will be completed next summer, will bring together in one complex on the staff of the Local Police, Civil Protection and devices Emergency Coordination Center of the municipality with remote terminal 1 - 1-2 and a Unit Municipal Fire First Responders.
Also planned is the construction of a heliport.
The new facilities are being built on a municipal plot of 5,800 square meters located behind the Parador Nacional de Turismo.
The building includes a basement is located the parking area, the shooting gallery, archive and storage, among other agencies, and an upper floor with the reception, the area of citizen services, offices and meeting rooms.
The town of Puerto Lumbreras currently has a staff of 24 officers, nine of which are attached to the Public Safety Unit of the Regional Plan, which exceeds more than double the staff it had in early 2000.
In addition, three new agents exceeded the selection tests earlier this year.
Improvements in police allocations
The growth of the workforce of local police officers has been accompanied by an increase in material resources, especially vehicles, two patrol cars subsidized by the EC in the amount of 66,900 euros for the purposes of Public Safety Units.
The municipality has also received a grant of 70,180 euros for the acquisition of Integrated Communication Centre for Local Police, a device that enables communication between its members safely and without shadows.
Another action that has a grant of 650,000 euros from the Ministry of the Presidency and the next government is building a Police Service Centre in the village of Esparragal-Station.
The Minister of Presidency stressed the importance of this type of measures envisaged in the Plan of Citizen Security of the Region of Murcia to "municipalities to improve police and emergency services they provide, with adequate space and resources to the necessities population growth. "
Reverte recalled that the Regional Public Safety Plan, approved in 2006 with the unanimous support of the 45 municipalities in the region, represents a total investment of 300 million euros until 2016, that allows to incorporate a total of 628 new agents the local police bodies of the various municipalities in the region and provide them with technical means, and the construction of the Regional Police Academy premises.
