The City Council has given a municipal to locate the Civil Guard barracks and temporarily speed up the work on improving and expanding the aging infrastructure
The Mayor of Puerto Lumbreras, Pedro Antonio Sánchez, and the Government Delegate, Rafael González Tovar, this morning visited the rehabilitation works of the barracks of the Guardia Civil who have invested 604,468 euros.
The actions focus on the expansion and redistribution of space to improve security services in the municipality.
"Increased public safety and improve the services offered by security forces has become a priority for Puerto Lumbreras. Since we have asked the council for several years and through various motions to the Delegation of the Government the need to improve infrastructure of the Civil Guard in the municipality. These actions will facilitate the task and enable the performance of its functions to the security forces, "said the mayor of Puerto Lumbreras, Pedro Antonio Sánchez.
Improvement works and rehabilitation of the barracks of the Guardia Civil envisage the extension of the work units located on the ground floor, with a new distribution of power according to current needs, including new access, waiting room, guard doors, public service offices, the post commander, file, or changing rooms.
The works include the rehabilitation of 8 homes attached to the barracks, through the redistribution of space, providing them with heat and sound insulation, and improve water facilities and electricity.
During the official visit, the Mayor and Deputy Government agencies that have overseen the City Council has given Puerto Lumbreras to provide the services of the Civil Guard in the municipality and thus expedite the refurbishment and rehabilitation of the barracks.
The local council has the right in the Plaza Municipal Master Fulgencio Romera to house during this period to the public services and facilities of the Guardia Civil in Puerto Lumbreras.
In this sense, the mayor of Puerto Lumbreras, Pedro Antonio Sánchez, stressed that "the session provides the Guardia Civil the necessary infrastructure to continue offering their services while rehabilitating the building of the barracks.

Finally, Sanchez and Gonzalez Tovar visited the construction of a new paddle tennis in the sports equipment of the Public School Immaculate Conception, which have an investment of 29,999 euros, which represent an expansion of the sporting activities in the district El Esparragal.
