The Ministry of Universities, Business and Research works with the city of Puerto Lumbreras in the medium term to expand the industrial area of 374,000 meters square municipality in order to attract innovative companies in the area.
This was announced this morning the Minister of Universities, Business and Research, Salvador Marín, after the meeting that, with his team, kept with the mayor of Puerto Lumbreras, Pedro Antonio Sanchez, in addressing issues relating to industrial development municipality.
Marin reported that the Ministry, through the Public Land Society and Business Equipment (Seremur) and the Institute of Development, is developing a comprehensive feasibility plan to expand the estate and noted that it signed a collaboration agreement between the regional government and the Consistory lumbrerense which will double the current polygon surface, with an occupancy rate of 100 percent.
This plan should approach the expansion in phases, a study of the application, drafting of project planning, the choice of governance model for the development of new infrastructure and marketing of the plots.
Marin and Sanchez agreed on the importance of expediting the expansion of the circle to assist in the development of the industrial axis Lorca-Puerto Lumbreras.
In fact, since the Department has analyzed the great possibilities that account this extension and productive synergies that are generated by the expansions already planned SAPRELORCA Industrial Estate.
This action is framed within the Revitalization Plan Industrial Land of the Regional Government in collaboration with local governments.
"Our goal is to promote the region and make it one of the major industrial hubs in the region.
To achieve this we must have top quality industrial land that is attractive to businesses, "said Salvador Marin.
In the meeting between the management team of the Department and the mayor of Puerto Lumbreras were also discussed other issues such as implementation of a strip mall in the town, or rehabilitation works cave houses Nogalte Castle and and the Craftsman's Workshop House, which the Directorate General of Trade and Crafts has allocated 258,000 euros over the past three years.
