The town of Puerto Lumbreras host tomorrow Saturday 11 July, the tenth edition of the Flamenco Festival is included in the Cultural Nogalte Program.
Councillor for Education, Culture and Celebrations, Isabel García, along with the president of the Association of Flamenco Dance Ria Pita, M ª Carmen Martínez, presented what will be the Flamenco Festival 2009 in Puerto Lumbreras.
"The Festival Flamenco de Puerto Lumbreras is gaining importance every year, and has already become a key event for all lovers of dance and flamenco.
In this 2009 edition the festival will feature special performances by the singer Maria Jose Perez, who ranks as one of promises of flamenco after winning the National Award of Cordoba and Melon Gold Lo Ferro ", stressed the Councillor for Education , Culture and Celebrations, Isabel García.
In so doing, the singer Maria José Pérez Almeria will be accompanied by the guitar of Miguel Ochando, who began playing with 10 years of age and has, among others, the Second Prize of National Competition of Flamenco Guitar Jerez de la Frontera the Second Prize of National Competition of Flamenco Guitar Union in 1983.
In this 2009 edition, the Festival will also feature a poetic interpretation of Romeo and Juliet by William Shakespeare Association danced by Ria Pita Flamenco Dance.
The president of the association and director of performance, M ª Carmen Martínez, stressed that "is a poetic version of Romeo and Juliet written and performed by the artist lumbrerense Marco Salvador Romero, and performed by the dance of 50 girls of the town students of the Association of Pita Ria Dance. Singer María José Pérez
María José Pérez, born in Almería in 1985, began to climb to the stage with a very young age, having passed in the first years of activity almost throughout the country.
Possessing a clear voice, bright, strong and rich in nuances, which María José offers its actions is a flamenco phrasing and extraordinary knowledge of the songs running, always in the more orthodox line with commendable honesty.
Among his awards include first prize in the contest organized by the Young Flamenco Biennial of Seville, finalist at the XVII Festival de Arte Flamenco de Córdoba, Melon or Gold Award at the Festival Internacional de Cante Flamenco "Lo Ferro" .
