The 2009 edition of the Flamenco Festival featured special performances by the singer Maria José Pérez accompanied by the guitar of Miguel Ochando, and a poetic interpretation of Romeo and Juliet by William Shakespeare performed by more than 50 dancers of the Flemish Association Ria Pita.
The town of Puerto Lumbreras last night hosted the Tenth Annual Festival Flamenco Nogalte included in the Cultural Program and attended more than a thousand people.
In the 2009 the Festival featured special performances by the singer Maria Jose Perez, one of flamenco's promises after winning the National Award of Cordoba and Melon Gold Lo Ferro.
In so doing, the singer was accompanied by Almeria guitar Miguel Ochando, who began playing with 10 years of age and has, among others, the Second Prize of National Competition of Flamenco Guitar Jerez de la Frontera and the Second Prize National Competition of Flamenco Guitar Union in 1983.
María José Pérez, born in Almería in 1985, began to climb to the stage with a very young age and has already traveled almost all over the country.
The singer gave a brilliant performance characterized by flamenco phrasing with a clear voice, strong and rich in nuances that delighted the more than 1,000 attendees gathered in Puerto Lumbreras.
In addition, the Festival featured a poetic interpretation of Romeo and Juliet by William Shakespeare.
The play, written and performed by the artist Salvador lumbrerense Marco Romero, was performed by more than 50 dancers of Dance Association Ria Pita, a local born to promote the culture of flamenco dance through educational activities and performances cultural.
