Social Responsibility was established as a model that reconciles the interests of increasing profitability and good management of any company, environmental protection, social inclusion and employment for disadvantaged groups or social and economic development of their community.
Active Murcia Project aims to promote rural employment for social and professional integration of groups at risk of social exclusion and implement measures to increase new business model for Social Responsibility
The City Council of Puerto Lumbreras, through the Employment Service of the Region of Murcia, the project promotes mappers (Murcia Active For Rural Employment), funded by the European Social Fund.
The objective of this project is the labor integration of groups at risk of social exclusion and the implementation of measures to increase social responsibility in Puerto Lumbreras.
"Puerto Lumbreras is established as one of the municipalities involved in the project mappers that would establish a Local Agreement for the responsible use of the environment and the underprivileged.
Another pillar of the project is the strengthening of measures to increase social responsibility in business and social agents of the municipality, "said the mayor of Puerto Lumbreras, Pedro Antonio Sánchez.
The project's objective is to promote social and professional integration of disadvantaged groups such as women, youth under 30, people over 45, people with disabilities and long-term unemployed.
Moreover, among the aims of mappers is the creation of tools and structures to ensure equal opportunities between men and women in the workplace and promote the use of new technologies in the processes of education, the occupational and as a working tool .
The City Council of Puerto Lumbreras, as partner in charge of the project will implement several actions in the field of Social Responsibility, as is the implementation of an Occupational Centre which will obtain the actual data and the development of small and medium-sized businesses on environmental compliance, labor and social inclusion for disadvantaged groups or social development.
"During this month, the council has launched this first step, and is conducting a study of SMEs in the area of Social Responsibility in order to obtain these indices of the business to then implement measures to support the development expansion and improvement of business competitiveness, "the mayor of Puerto Lumbreras, Pedro Antonio Sánchez.
Besides Puerto Lumbreras, mappers Project with the participation of two other partner municipalities in the Region of Murcia, Totana and Cieza.
In the second phase of research, starting from September, all municipalities jointly conducted three focus groups to be attended by SMEs, social partners and government agencies.
Also planned are numerous interviews with players to discuss the results of research and study the results in the three municipalities of the project partners.
Finally, another measure that will be promoted through the project mappers will launch an OTT (Office of Socially Responsible Territories) focusing on the implementation of social responsibility plans to staff and SMEs through Municipality of Puerto Lumbreras.
