The director of the Institute of Youth in the Region of Murcia, Veronica Lopez, accompanied by the councilman of Youth council of Puerto Lumbreras, Mariano Carrasco, today visited the young people involved in international work camp for the Environment, held in the natural 'head of the Jara', in the municipality lumbrerense.
The 18 volunteers in the field, between 18 and 26, come from different countries in Europe and Asia, namely, Spain, France, Italy, Germany and Turkey.
For 15 days, from 1 to 15 August, the youth will develop environmental activities in the surroundings of the place 'Cabezo de la Jara', such as retrieving, marking, and cleaning of paths, study and creation of new roads, construction of new signage and knowledge of the flora and fauna.
In addition to the activities of the field, the first environment to be held in Puerto Lumbreras, there will be another set of alternative activities to promote coexistence and cultural exchange among participants.
Have organized cultural visits and guided tours of municipalities in the region, creative workshops in astronomy, parties and entertainment activities.
The activities of the labor camps, along with the camps, are part of the campaign 'Summer Youth 2009' launched by the Ministry of Culture and Tourism through the Institute of Youth.
The total budget for this campaign is 500,000 euros, of which the Youth Institute provides Caja Mediterráneo 410,000 and 90,000 euros.
