During the first weeks of August about a dozen young volunteers, aged between 18 and 26 years, from five European Union countries have made environmental tasks in the Work Camp organized at the Institute of Youth in the Region of Murcia , which was conducted in the surroundings of the place 'Cabezo de la Jara' in Puerto Lumbreras.
For 15 days the young have made recovery efforts, marking and clearance of paths.
In particular the most important actions have been carried out on the trail marked as PR-2, which is coming out near the youth hostel 'Cabezo de la Jara. "
The PR-2 is a circular path with an approximate distance of 18 miles that runs through the mountains of Cabezo de la Jara, giving this trail a complete and accurate picture of the environment, allowing visitors to learn about the environmental and landscape of the area Also get an idea of traditional values relating to the farm and agricultural environment through the vision of old buildings of crop and livestock income.
On the other hand, there have been performances at the beginning of the route where there is a tortoise reserve, which is marked with interpretive signs.
