The City Council of Puerto Lumbreras asked to participate, through European programs of the Mediterranean, a project on 'Slow Tourism' 'Slow Tourism'.
The objective of this project is to make more attractive the Mediterranean regions through sustainable growth and responsible tourism for the protection and preservation of natural and cultural value, with the participation of travelers, businesses, residents and administration to return to the area public value and the original meaning.
The program of the Mediterranean is the multilateral and transnational cooperation that arises with the new European Neighbourhood Policy which aims to help create a ring of stability, security and prosperity around the enlarged European Union.
This new policy aims to strengthen ties with the bloc has border entities that currently has no prospect of accession to the European Union.
These countries are: Belarus, Ukraine, Algeria and Egypt, among others.
Through this ambitious project, the municipality aims to improve and promote lumbrerense, attracting tourists by offering a culture of sustainable and responsible tourism as part of the supply of local partners in this project.
In this project, seeking Puerto Lumbreras participate, will be led by the Unesco Club and could be part of the territories of both countries in the European Union and beyond, countries bordering the Mediterranean Sea.
