The program includes several workshops that address women's associations, young people and social actors
The town of Puerto Lumbreras has hosted the program for the Prevention of Domestic Violence 'Meeting to change the look', which have come about thirty people of different groups of women's associations in the municipality.
The conference, promoted through the CAM Social Work in collaboration with the Municipality of Puerto Lumbreras, aim to bring this violence to people and to provide knowledge and skills about gender violence.
"Through these workshops which address various groups in the municipality to seek to increase the awareness, reflection and the prevention of gender violence through dynamic, participatory activities," said the Councillor for Equal Opportunities, Lina Gázquez.
Through the collaboration of the Municipality of Puerto Lumbreras in the Works of the CAM, the program will continue to conduct more workshops for different groups over the next 22 to 29 September.
This, more than one hundred women from various associations like the Association Peñas Blancas, Friends Without Borders and Advancement of Women will participate in these training sessions and educational.
Among the contents of the workshop include the roles and gender stereotypes, the causes, manifestations and risk indicators and warning of violence in couples, and the analysis of the myths and realities associated with the mistreatment of women.
Furthermore, through this initiative will provide information on counseling and support resources to raise awareness of the general population.
