This morning we celebrated the ceremony of diplomas to students at XXXV XXV promotions Selective Training Course Basic income applicants in the category of Agent of Local Police Forces in the Region of Murcia.
A total of 427 police officers have received the diploma in a ceremony presided by the President of the Autonomous Community, Ramón Luis Valcárcel.
Among the local police who have received the diploma were six officers of the Local Police of Puerto Lumbreras.
The Mayor, Pedro Antonio Sánchez, and the Councillor for Citizen Security, Dolores Arenas, police have accompanied the municipal body during the ceremony of diplomas.
In recent years, Puerto Lumbreras has increased significantly its number of local police.
Currently, the municipality has a staff of 24 officers, nine of which are attached to the Public Safety Unit of the Regional Plan, a figure which is more than double the staff it had in early 2000.
In addition, three new agents exceeded the selection tests earlier this year.
On the other hand, has also tripled the number of Civil Defence volunteers, and today the town has 47 volunteers.
