The International Festival dedicated art and music (Explum) is one of the great events that will participate in the Puerto Lumbreras transnational project
The City Council of Puerto Lumbreras, through the Department of Culture, participated in the European project "Mediterranean Festival" together with other municipalities in countries such as Greece and Italy.
The Mayor of Puerto Lumbreras, Pedro Antonio Sánchez, used his speech during the last weekend in the working meeting of the Culture Project (2007-2013), to meet with Italian and Greek authorities and organizations, the collaboration of the partners involved in this project to encourage intercultural European Union.
"The meeting also served to present the proposal that the town of Puerto Lumbreras participate in the European project 'Festival of the Mediterranean.
From the Department of Culture of the Municipality of Puerto Lumbreras promoted various cultural initiatives, and adapt some events already established in the municipality to join this initiative which aims to promote cultural diversity, "said the Mayor of Puerto Lumbreras, Pedro Antonio Sánchez .
Specifically, near Puerto Lumbreras, the cities participating in the project are Santa Severina as lead partner, the Ministry of Cultural Assets of Crotona, and the consortium 'Georama' of Partazo.
The town of Puerto Lumbreras in the coming months host numerous cultural activities, among which is a competition for Arab accounts are held at the Castle Nogalte.
In addition, the municipality will participate in the project through other initiatives such as the upcoming 2010 edition of International Festival of Music and Art Explum, including musicians and artists from Mediterranean countries to give a new dimension to the festival, and thereby enabling promotion in the rest of Europe.
In this sense, the mayor of Puerto Lumbreras, Pedro Antonio Sánchez, added that "Puerto Lumbreras is a town committed to cultural initiatives and examples of this are activities such as the International Festival of Art and Music Explum or Nogalte Cultural program.

The Project includes a joint effort to promote European culture through catalogs, information campaigns and cultural activities that will tour much of the European territory, and will end on 2010 in Puerto Lumbreras.
To this end, the partners will keep for two years several regular meetings and working groups to be attended by representatives of all partners in the project cities.
In addition, Puerto Lumbreras conduct a joint web project partner countries in which they publish articles, stories and information related to various Mediterranean Festival, under the Culture Project (2007-2013).
