The Minister of Public Works and Planning, José Ballesta, proclaimed the festival of Puerto Lumbreras, by a description of the customs of the people of Murcia and openness, family and workers of lumbrerenses through writings of Jorge Guillén, Ramon Gaya or Abenarabi.

He also highlighted the atmosphere of festivity and fervor of the festival of Puerto Lumbreras, held every year during October in honor of Our Lady of the Rosary.
