The City Council of Puerto Lumbreras promote various measures to renovate and rehabilitate the urban area of the municipality.
Through the Cooperation Plan Works and Services 2010, the municipality has designed a project that includes replacing pavement and sidewalks on several streets in the city center.
The actions, prompted by the City and the Autonomous Region, has invested 181,276 euros
"The work planned will serve to enable better tourist infrastructure in the main streets of downtown urban setting.
The project includes the renovation of about 2,000 square meters of sidewalks and more than 6,500 meters of road, which involves the renovation and upgrading of much of the municipality's urban center, "said Councilman Works and Services, Eliseo Sánchez.
Among the actions planned, underlines the refurbishment and replacement of the paving of roadways and sidewalks of the streets Vicente Llamas Ruiz, José Caballero Oliver, Pablo Casals and Pablo Picasso, among others.
In addition, the project includes the demolition of existing curbs and architectural barriers and the renewal of street furniture.
In this regard, the council Works and Services, added that "with these actions the council will promote the rehabilitation and adaptation of the village, promoting both access and mobility in one of the busiest areas of town, where now stands the Sacred Heart school. "
Finally, the actions provide for the inclusion and replacing road signs throughout the area, in order to increase security and to promote pedestrian traffic in the town.
