The councilors of the PSOE did not vote for this proposed agreement by the Department of Business and Industry
The City Council of Puerto Lumbreras asked the Ministry of Development to build a new connection that connects the industrial area of town with the Mediterranean motorway.
The council has approved this motion on full municipal, although the Socialist councilors abstain in voting on the proposed agreement from the Department of Business.
"It is necessary to build new connections with the motorway to enhance business development in the municipality.
The strategic location of industrial estates and Lorca Puerto Lumbreras facing the Mediterranean motorway, make this area into an area of future industrial growth and rotational logistics, "said the Mayor of Puerto Lumbreras, Pedro Antonio Sánchez.
The General Plan Municipal de Puerto Lumbreras Management looks at the future development of economic sectors, as well as successive enlargements of the industrial area of town.
In order to ensure direct road access from the highway A7 in direction Murcia-Almeria, the municipality claims that the central government's implementation of accessible branches from the service road of the A7 to liaise with the existing overpass on the highway to the area.
In addition, the council urges the creation of a new access from the trunk of the highway to the Way of Service, allowing vehicles to reach directly from the A7 motorway towards Almeria-Murcia, to the industrial estate municipality.
In this sense, the mayor of Puerto Lumbreras, Pedro Antonio Sánchez, concluded by explaining that "'the axis Lorca-Puerto Lumbreras evolves into a continuous flow of economic activities that can be supported by a network of quality communications.
This logistics platform will be connected by direct access to the motorway Murcia-Almeria.
