The town has hosted a contest for short stories in Arabic which involved several local artists and writers.
The cultural initiative is part of the European project 'Arab World Festival' in Puerto Lumbreras participating with other municipalities of Greece and Italy.
Puerto Lumbreras has welcomed the initiative "Bridging Cultures: Arab Story Time 'in which they participated lumbrerenses various writers and artists.
The activity, attended by many citizens in the municipality's Cultural Center, is part of the European project 'Festival of the Arab World', in which the municipality participates with municipalities in other European countries like Greece or Italy.
The Project includes a joint effort to promote cultural diversity in Europe through information campaigns and cultural initiatives.
The conference 'Bridging Cultures', had the Arab storytelling by local artists and writers as Maria Concepcion Perez, Carmen Martinez, Marcos Salvador Romero, Isabel Lopez, Marcos Garcia and Adrian Buenaventura Tunisia.
In addition, featured musical accompaniment Quintet Marcos Romera.
