The new public facility will house the CAVI (Specialty Care Center for Women Victims of Violence).
The session will yield a space at the Center for Women to women's associations of the locality.
The City Council of Puerto Lumbreras, in collaboration with the Institute of Women of the Region of Murcia, has started work on the new Center for Women that is located on Lemon Street.
The works, whose investment exceeds EUR 650,000, provide for the creation of classrooms and new technologies, meeting facilities and infrastructure where women's associations located in the town.
"The new Center for Women in Puerto Lumbreras serve to increase participation of women in the municipality through the development of various activities such as training programs and cultural initiatives.
Additionally, this center will have space of their own women's associations in the municipality, "said the Councillor for Equal Opportunities, Lina Gázquez.
Work on the new public facilities have a lead time of 3 months, and include the creation of various spaces in an area of 819 square meters spread over a plant.
"The new centralized infrastructure services to the Department of Equal Opportunity lumbrerense consistory, and host all the activities and initiatives aimed at women," added the Councillor for Equal Opportunities, Lina Gázquez.
Among the services, the new Women's Center of Puerto Lumbreras provide advice in various areas such as employment, training or business.
In addition, women will be trained in information technology through a classroom of new technologies with free internet access, and organize initiatives to increase the participation of women in the municipality.
Finally, the new facility will house the Center for Specialty Care for Women Victims of Violence (CAVI), which aims to broaden support for victims of domestic violence through a global specialty care.
Among the measures of CAVI, emphasizes psychological, legal advice and information, guidance and social work for victims.
