The municipality will become a national benchmark in education sector, restaurant and through the creation of a Formative Campus which includes the creation of the new Regional School of Hospitality, the conversion of National Tourism Parador Parador-School and implementation of new programs of vocational training
The City Council of Puerto Lumbreras, in collaboration with the Autonomous Community, is working on the definition of a master plan of action that draws the main lines of work for the creation of a Campus Education in hotels and restaurants.
Coinciding with the new edition of International Tourism Fair, FITUR, the city has presented the main activities which includes the construction of the new campus hotel and catering training.
The Mayor, Pedro Antonio Sánchez, stressed that "the Training Campus Puerto Lumbreras will provide the infrastructure necessary to make the town a national benchmark of training in the hospitality sector.
In addition, the project is as a formula to generate employment and contribute to tourism and business development of the municipality and the Region of Murcia. "
Among the first acts that includes the Master Plan, is the construction of a Regional School of Hospitality will begin construction this year on a plot of over 5,000 square meters in the immediate vicinity of the Parador Nacional de Turismo.
The School of Hospitality, whose investment exceeds 2 million, will be the first in the region of Guadalentín and promote job creation through the professionalism in the hospitality industry.
Another action that includes the new campus hotel and catering training is the conversion of the Parador Nacional de Turismo in a Parador-School.
Through an agreement with House of Spain, will invest almost six billion euros in converting the Parador Nacional de Turismo de Puerto Lumbreras Parador in a school that will offer its training to all employees of the Network for Paradores of the country.
Thus, there are only two House with these features in Spain that is shared between areas of influence: Leon and Puerto Lumbreras.
In this sense, the mayor of Puerto Lumbreras has emphasized that "the Parador de Puerto Lumbreras continue its cuisine and accommodation, but will focus its efforts specifically to the professional training of the network of Paradores throughout the national territory."
Finally, the Campus Food Catering training and will be located next to the new Teatro Auditorium and Congress Center being built in the municipality, and will contribute to consolidating and developing the cultural, tourism and socio-economic area.
The building, which has invested more than 6 million euros, is designed to be a multipurpose space and multidisciplinary, which will include a main hall for 600 spectators (expandable to 1,000), a large stage, plus various rooms to be allocated to the organization of events and training workshops.
Tasting sweets 'Chinese Desserts'
The municipality has unveiled at the International Fair of Tourism, the most typical sweet of the town, the 'Chinese Dessert', with a tasting, which has distributed more than 1000 of these sweets.
