Swimming Federation of the Region of Murcia and the National High School Coaches of the Royal Spanish Swimming Federation, in collaboration with the Municipality of Puerto Lumbreras, have organized a course in National Swimming Monitor to be conducted during the month of February Puerto Lumbreras.
According to the councilman of Youth and Sports, Mariano Carrasco, 'the Department of Youth and Sports is working with this initiative which aims to train students as monitors of swimming.
The program promotes training in sport, while labor will favor the inclusion of students who can teach swimming lessons in the sports facilities of both the municipality and in the rest of Spain. "
Last Saturday were tested access to the course in the Municipal Sports Complex in Puerto Lumbreras.
More than thirty candidates, most lumbrerenses, passed the tests of the training program which will begin on February 20 and will run for 4 weekends.
In 2009 the Municipal Sports Complex in Puerto Lumbreras increased by over 45% the number of users with a total of 1,597 users a month.
In this sense, the councilman of Youth and Sports, Mariano Carrasco said that 'the Course National Swimming Monitor will help train lumbrerenses a sports field that grows year after year both in infrastructure and the number of users. "
Overall, the Municipal Sports Complex in Puerto Lumbreras has a total area of over 4,000 square meters.
Its facilities include a heated pool with a length of 25 meters and six lanes, mobile bleachers and locker rooms.
Beside it sits a glass splash of 12.5 by 8 feet, to the learning of children, seniors and persons with disabilities.
