The president of the Partido Popular de Puerto Lumbreras, Pedro Antonio Sanchez, was elected last night in his office with the overwhelming support of all members of the Partido Popular de Puerto Lumbreras.
Under the slogan "With you, a great team," more than 500 lumbrerenses Party members elected a new Local Executive Committee, which will be led by Pedro Antonio Sánchez.
According to Sanchez explained, "This new team will be composed of 22 members with an average age of 42 years.
More people have joined the party leadership that can bring new ideas, work and effort with a common commitment: Puerto Lumbreras.
Congress has also served to analyze the actions that the party held in the town, discuss and outline the work to be undertaken by the local group.
Sanchez explained that "after this Congress is given a new impetus to the work performed by the Party in this city.
The new Executive has a greater social representation, formed by people coming from different associations and groups.

In his speech, Sanchez had a word of thanks to the Municipal Government Team and highlighted the new Executive Committee's "commitment to work for the people who have acquired" referring to him as an "exciting challenge."
Social support
The Partido Popular de Puerto Lumbreras local held its last congress on January 28, 2005, in which Pedro Antonio Sánchez was elected president.
This new Congress is held at the time when the political group has the highest social support in its history.
In the last elections held on the occasion of the municipal elections, nearly 70% supported the candidacy lumbrerenses popular.
Since the PP won first local elections in 2003, with an absolute majority, the city has continued to increase its support for the government team led by Pedro Antonio Sanchez, who won the local elections of 2007 with twelve councilors on seventeen make up the Municipal Corporation.

The Congress was attended by mayors and representatives of the Partido Popular de Lorca, Totana, Calasparra, Moratalla, Bullas, Mula, San Pedro del Pinatar, Cartagena, La Unión, Torrepacheco, Blanca, Cieza, Yecla, Santomera, Fuente Alamo, Ceuta, Caravaca and booklets, as well as Huercal Overa.
Sanchez also clothed Regional Representatives, Paquita Cabrera, Jesus Cano, Martin Quiñonero, Diana Asurmendi, Inmaculada González, Juan Antonio Sánchez-Castañol, María Teresa Marín, Ana Aquilino, Ascension Segado Carreño and Sunday.
On the other hand, were in Puerto Lumbreras Senators Pedro José Pérez, Pedro Manuel Hernández and José Joaquín Peñarrubia, besides Jesus Caicedo, Senator and Mayor of Cuevas de Almanzora.
