The City Council of Puerto Lumbreras, in collaboration with the Ministry of Agriculture and Water, held various activities to improve and adapt the disinfection center located in the Cattle Market District of the municipality.
The steps to be carried out through an investment of 280,000 euros, including the replacement of pumping equipment for cleaning and disinfection of vehicles transporting livestock.
According to the rural development council, Jose Maria Parra, "these actions will modernize the center of disinfection of animal transport in the city, adapting to new techniques and standards to strengthen farming in Puerto Lumbreras.
Specifically, the actions to be carried out in the middle of cleaning and disinfection of vehicles transporting livestock sector, including reforming the structure of cleaning, renovation of pumping equipment for both cleaning and disinfection, the installation of new washing systems, and the outer packaging of public facilities.
On the other hand, the performances have a lead time of 6 months, and include the refurbishment of the downtown office, and the inclusion of new furniture and technology equipment.
In this regard, Councillor for Rural Development, Jose Maria Parra, explained that "the importance of these actions, given that farming is one of the primary sectors of greater economic and social importance in the region as a whole."
With the modernization of downtown Puerto Lumbreras disinfection, "affect in any actions for the eradication and prevention of animal diseases," he said Parra.
