The mayor of Puerto Lumbreras, Pedro Antonio Sánchez, and the Minister of Public Works and Planning, José Ballesta, inaugurated this morning the crossing to access the town of Puerto Lumbreras in the RM-D16 road, which connects people with the hamlet of La Station-Esparragal.
The work, financed by the regional government, has received an investment of 1,482,781 euros.
According to the Mayor, Pedro Antonio Sánchez, "with these actions will increase road safety, and simultaneously increase the mobility of vehicles and pedestrians in one of the busiest entrances connecting the city with its largest parish in population, Season-Esparragal. "
The objective of the action, the result of an agreement signed by the Ministry of Public Works and Planning and the Municipality of Puerto Lumbreras is to "reduce the risk of accidents and ensure the best possible mobility for about 14,000 residents of the municipality" explained by the Minister of Public Works and Planning, José Ballesta.
The refurbishment works have consisted of a comprehensive improvement of urban section.
To this end, we have carried out the asphalting of the road separating the two directions of traffic by a landscaped median, as well as the construction of walkways, a bike lane, the paving of sidewalks and the addition of parking areas.
Furthermore, it has carried out the installation of pipes for water supply and fire home, telecommunications and electricity supply, sewerage systems and rainwater collection, and the installation of street lighting to illuminate walkways and gardens .
Finally, we have carried out improvement work of gardening by planting lemon trees, flowers and shrubs and the addition of automatic irrigation.
In addition, there has been renewed signs horizontal, vertical and beacon.
