The International Festival of Art and Music Explum, held this weekend, is one of the great events that Puerto Lumbreras involved in this project.
The Mayor of Puerto Lumbreras, Pedro Antonio Sánchez, held a meeting this morning with Gianfranco Bertolo, scientific director of the Center for Euro-Mediterranean Studies, and Renata Mezenovsa, one of the leading artists of the Festival in Italy, both representatives of the Italian partners project 'Festival of the Arab World', which aims to promote cultural diversity in the European Union.
Puerto Lumbreras participates in the European project along with other cities in countries like Italy or Greece, which jointly organized cultural events.
According to the Mayor, Pedro Antonio Sánchez, "Puerto Lumbreras is a town committed to cultural initiatives and examples of this are activities such as the International Festival of Arts & Cultural Music Nogalte Explum or that includes a broad sampling of cultural activities throughout the month of July.
With this project, we will organize many activities in addition to promoting Arab culture in Spain, will drive much of our culture to the rest of Europe. "
The municipality participates in the project through the promotion of Arabic music with various initiatives.
Among others, the International Festival of Music and Art Explum held this weekend, includes a performance by a DJ Arab, Said, and in turn, visitors can enjoy cultural theming of the Cave House, where he held various performances.
The municipality recently held a contest short stories Arabs 'Bridging Cultures' involving various local artists and writers.
Specifically, near Puerto Lumbreras, the cities participating in the project are Santa Severina as lead partner, the Ministry of Cultural Assets of Crotona, and the consortium 'Georama' of Partazo.
The Project includes a joint effort to promote European culture through catalogs, information campaigns and cultural activities that will tour much of Europe.
To this end, the partners will keep for two years several regular meetings and working groups to be attended by representatives of all partners in the project cities.
In addition, Puerto Lumbreras conduct a joint web project partner countries in which they publish articles, stories and information related to various Mediterranean Festival, under the Culture Project (2007-2013).
