The municipality is working with the Sports Association of Puerto Lumbreras in organizing charity events for this project that is intended to improve sports facilities and promote activities for schoolchildren in Burkina Faso.
The Sports Association has earmarked Puerto Lumbreras 2,824 euros to a charity project in the African country Burkina Faso.
During the last year, the association lumbrerense, in collaboration with the City, has launched various activities in solidarity as a charity lunch for the construction of a handball court in the school 'La Salle' in Burkina Faso.
The association also promotes joint action with the cooperation of various local businesses and institutions that placed the tins for the charity project.
Specifically, the project takes place in Ouagadougou, capital of Burkina Faso.
According to the UN report on human development, the African country ranked No. 172 on the 174 countries listed.
Life expectancy in Burila Faso is 46 years and only 37% of children go to school.
Following the completion of this first project that will build a handball court, the Association of Puerto Lumbreras Sports has started work and organize activities for the construction of three classrooms in the city of Bobo Dioulasso in Burkina Faso in order to impart teaching children who can not access education due to lack of means.
