The City Council of Puerto Lumbreras, in collaboration with the regional government, business development plans of the area through the revitalization of industrial land to attract new business initiatives
This morning was held in Puerto Lumbreras City Council committee monitoring the expansion of the industrial area of the municipality.
The meeting was attended by the Councillor for Commerce and Industry, Ginés David Piñero, the Councillor for Employment and Social Policy, M ª Angeles Tunisia, President of SEREMUR, Juan Pablo Caballero, and representatives of the Instituto de Fomento Region de Murcia.
According to the councilman of Commerce and Industry, David Ginés Piñero, "the meeting served to plan and evaluate the performances of the first phase of expansion of industrial estate in the municipality providing for the inclusion of more than 350,000 square meters, and will serve to convert the industrial area of Puerto Lumbreras in a large business park. "
The Puerto Lumbreras Industrial Estate currently has an area of 225,000 square meters fully occupied, and across the planned measures will expand the area in more than 350,000 square meters.
Thus, during the monitoring committee held in Puerto Lumbreras, has planned the extension of the network of water supply and sanitation, as well as installation of power supply in the new surface.
In addition, the municipality has asked the Ministry of Development to create a new access from the A7 motorway that connects directly to the Industrial Park to improve communications and access to industrial area.
On the other hand, the Instituto de Fomento Region de Murcia is conducting a feasibility plan for expansion of industrial estate in the municipality, and is also conducting a study Strategic Management and Development Alternatives, which will be discussed with the planning Industrial shaft assembly of Lorca-Puerto Lumbreras to ensure that the quality and viability of the industrial area.
In this sense, Piñero said that "with all these actions we are implementing a new business development model based on the dynamism of industrial land, and the search for new business initiatives for the industrial area of town."
For the creation of the industrial axis Lorca-Puerto Lumbreras, the regional government has signed a collaboration agreement with the towns of Lorca and Puerto Lumbreras, through which the Institute of Development and the Public Land and Business Equipment in the Region of Murcia (SEREMUR), lend their support and collaboration in the development and industrial revitalization of the area.
